Walking to Rome: Day Six on the Chaucer Way

This is the final day of our brief pilgrimage from London to Canterbury. The Chaucer Way has taken us from the most urban of places, through its suburban spread and, from there, through quaint rural villages replete with half-timbered, thatched-roof cottages and flint-walled churches before bursting once more into the cultural and spiritual city of Canterbury. Walking to Rome: First Day in London

Our first day in London is a jet lag recovery day. How we deal with this time traveller’s malady is to hit the ground running. Or, in our case, walking. We arrive early morning at Heathrow, headed into town, deposit our bags at our refuge for the next two nights, Thanet Hotel near Russell Square Park. (more…)
